Generous Spreads Makes for Happy Hoppers
DT100 members, prospective members, and guests descended on Granby Street in droves to carry on one of the most beloved traditions of the Downtown 100 with the 2008 edition of the spring hop April 17th. Starting at Il Colosseo Ristorante Italiano, the group fueled up on antipasto and pasta before feasting on a full buffet at Posh Dolce, then night capped at Scotty Quixx's. As usual, the trip down Granby Street left hoppers ready to do it all again. Only 7 more months until the Holiday Hop!

Ken Young Hits one out of the Park
On April 2, 2008, one day before the opening of Norfolk’s baseball season, DNC and DT100 members and guests ventured out to Harbor Park for the monthly DNC Member Briefing. Hits at the Park, the aptly-named restaurant at Harbor Park, provided a fitting setting for DNC members to gaze out over the brilliantly green baseball field as they mingled, munched on bagels and muffins, they then turned their attention to guest speaker, Ken Young, owner of the Norfolk Tides and Norfolk Admirals.
Mr. Young spoke on a variety of interesting subjects, including his journey from starting in the recreational food service business to becoming the owner of multiple minor league franchises. He offered his opinion on the future of professional sports in Hampton Roads, and treated the audience to the story of how his Albuquerque, New Mexico team came to be known as the Isotopes (The Simpsons, anyone?).
Many thanks go to the Downtown Norfolk Council for organizing another great Member Briefing.

Signature Project Selection Underway
It’s once again time to submit Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the next Signature Project. This is a great way to get an agency or cause the help that they need. If you know of an organization that could benefit from the assistance of DT100 be sure to submit your idea. The project must directly benefit downtown Norfolk, provide an ongoing opportunity or annual involvement and must allow for total involvement of the Downtown 100 membership to name some criteria. Look for information to be mailed to you directly or you can download an application.
