Tazewell Street to Close for Utility Work

Beginning Monday, January 2 through late February, E. Tazewell Street, between Granby Street and Monticello Avenue, will be closed for utility work necessary to power newly renovated buildings at 244 and 250 Granby Street. The contractor will work from the alley between 244 Granby Street and the Wells Theater, along E. Tazewell Street, to a manhole in Granby Street. Access to the Federal Building will be via Freemason Street to Monticello Avenue during this time. Sidewalk access will be maintained on the Federal Building side of Tazewell Street.

The contractor will pave and reopen the roadway for The Grand Opening of the Virginia Stage Company’s Season 38 on January 20 and will plate the roadway for each nightly "A Streetcar Named Desire" performance. Click here for a map.
