Details
re-ligare is an exhibition of paintings by John Rudel, Batten Associate Professor of Art & Curator of Exhibitions at Virginia Wesleyan University. Multiple layers & patterns force the viewer to leave areas out of focus to identify individual elements. Continual shifts of focus & perception are representative of countless tiny impulse based experiences of visual reconnections over time. In Latin, re-ligare means to reconnect. John was heavily inspired by the trichotomy of visual form introduced by Paul Klee in his idiosyncratic Pedagogical Sketchbook when creating this body of work.
Join us for an opening reception on the 1st floor of the World Trade Center. Free & open to the public. Exhibition of view through November 30th.
Gallery hrs: 8:30am-5:30pm, M-Saturday. Sundays see security for entry.
