Keeping her promise of introducing area music lovers to some of the world’s best musicians, the Virginia Arts Festival’s Connie & Marc Jacobson Director of Chamber Music Olga Kern has selected Quartetto Adorno to perform in two concerts for the 2020 season. Acclaimed throughout Europe, this Italian string quartet’s name reflects its mission; it is named for the philosopher Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno, who saw chamber music as a cure for the world’s ills, the highest ideal for the relationship between human beings and music. The passion, knowledge and musicality that this ensemble brings to its performances of classics and rarely heard works ensure an absorbing experience, not soon to be forgotten.
