Announces “Ride the OpSail Free-Way”
A free transportation system linking hotels, attractions, shopping and dining destinations in Norfolk.

From June 6 -12, 2012, the Port of Virginia will once again host an impressive fleet of tall ships, navy and military war ships representing the world. OpSail 2012 Virginia is planned to illuminate the community with spectacle and festivity, and will place our Commonwealth front and center on the world stage.

Previous maritime and tall ship events have been extremely successful for Norfolk and the Hampton Roads Region in visitor spending revenue.

“Free-Way” will provide complimentary round trip transportation from;
     • Participating Norfolk hotels to OpSail event sites
     • With links to participating Norfolk attractions and shopping/dining districts

The general public and ship crews are welcome to ride the “Free-Way” to all participating businesses and attractions.

Participation in this marketing initiative is free.

OpSail 2012 Virginia will:
     • Market the “Free-Way” program and its partners via its website, radio/print ads and collateral materials

Participating partners will:
     • Enhance the OpSail 2012 Virginia marketing campaign through their marketing outlets
     • Permit the placement of OpSail 2012 Virginia collateral materials at their business
