Monday, October 6, 2025, marks the 44th annual “National Day of Unity-Night of Remembrance,” founded by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, which established October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month nationwide.

Please join us for a candlelight vigil on Monday, October 6, 2025, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Slover Library, 235 E Plume St., Norfolk, VA to memorialize those lost to domestic violence; to support families, friends, and survivors; to raise awareness of shelters and other resources; and to actively work toward safer relationships and communities.

This event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The Day of Unity is presented by Samaritan House, YWCA South Hampton Roads, Help and Emergency Response, Inc., The Genieve Shelter, Transitions Family Violence Services, and Norfolk Family Justice Center, along with support from multi-city Victim-Witness programs.
