Free & open to the public, we welcome you to join us for bevies, bites, awards, and a free activity at the dual opening of our annual floral & botanical show, and our contemporary embroidery exhibit!
Flourish is an exhibition of floral and botanical artworks from across the country. This is our 5th annual Flourish Exhibit, and this year it opens on the final day of Historic Garden Week in Virginia, making it the perfect event for local garden clubs and flower lovers to enjoy.
Every year we reach out to local floral artists and invite them to join us for our opening reception by adding EVEN MORE beauty to our Annual Flourish Exhibit while also promoting themselves! Each floral artist selects a piece from the exhibit and creates an arrangement inspired by that piece. The arrangements are revealed during the opening reception of the exhibit! Arrangements will be for sale to benefit d'Art Center. There will also be a free activity in the classroom during the reception. Join Hannah and learn how to create an origami floral bouquet!
On Point! is an exhibition of artworks that showcase contemporary embroidery from across the country. Today’s embroidery artists are pushing the boundaries of traditional needlework techniques by combining them with new and creative methods, proving that embroidery should no longer be considered a purely functional and decorative craft.
