The MacArthur Memorial is proud to host the City of Norfolk Veterans Affairs Commission’s Memorial Day Ceremony. This ceremony is open to the public and begins at 2pm. The museum will also be open to the public for special holiday hours from 10am-5pm and offer special family-friendly poppy activities all day as we honor the memories of loved ones who have served.
In addition to the ceremony, families are invited to learn about the symbolism of the poppy flower, make their own out of paper, add one to our community wreath in memory of some serving or who has served, and take home a flower and flag arrangement to set at the gravesite or memorial of a loved one who served. Activities are free while supplies last.
