Over the course of 10 interactive classes, participants build meaningful connections with their peers while developing a comprehensive Mission Map that serves as a blueprint for their organization's purpose, programs, and impact. This engaging series provides a practical and accessible overview of the essential components of building and sustaining a successful nonprofit organization.

Participants explore best practices for emerging nonprofits, including board governance, grant management, volunteer engagement, financial stewardship, strategic planning, and the development of mission, vision, and values statements. Through guided discussions, real-world examples, and hands-on activities, students gain a deeper understanding of the systems and structures that support long-term organizational success.

A key component of the course is the creation of a personalized Mission Map, which helps participants clearly articulate their organization's goals, identify intended outcomes, and communicate their impact to stakeholders, funders, and community members. This tool provides a strong foundation for future planning, fundraising, and program development.

This class meets on Monday evenings from 6-7:30 PM on the Norfolk Campus of TCC, in the Visual Arts + Design Center.
