Author, historian, and film maker Desiree Benipayo of the Philippine World War II Foundation and Memorare Manila 1945 will discuss the life, service, and execution of Filipino statesman and politician José Abad Santos. Santos was a Filipino statesman and politician who served as acting president of the Philippine Commonwealth during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II. His service was cut short when he was executed in 1942 after refusing to cooperate with the Imperial Japanese occupying forces. An audience Q&A will follow this presentation.
