NEW SIGHTS, NEW HEIGHTS
Downtown Norfolk Council 2017 Annual Meeting
More than 600 Downtown supporters gathered on June 7 at Hilton Norfolk The Main for the DNC Annual Meeting. The main activity is to honor Downtowners selected by the DNC Board of Directors. This year’s honorees were Patricia W. and J. Douglas Perry from the Patricia and Douglas Perry Foundation with the Peter G. Decker Downtowner of the Year Award and Mel Price from Work Program Architects with the Roy Badgley Distinguished Service Award.
Attendees were inspired by the video (link to https://vimeo.com/220350912 ) highlighting the Perry’s commitment to the arts and significant impact to Downtown and their heartfelt comments. Remarks from Mel Price made everyone want to get on their bike and experience the Elizabeth River Trail (link to www.elizabethrivertrail.com) and the results of all her hard work along with the Friends of the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation.
Throughout the event DNC featured a vivid presentation (link to powerpoint – saved in AM presentation folder) that showcased all the hard work, accomplishments and initiatives from the past year.
