Downtown Norfolk Holiday Movie Food & Drink Week

Downtown Norfolk chefs are getting creative and having a lot of fun reimagining iconic food and drinks from your favorite holiday movies and specials this season.

For one week from December 4-11, Downtown Norfolk restaurants will put their own unique spin on recognizable foods, drinks, and memorable scenes from holiday classics for a creative and delicious helping of festive nostalgia.

Movie: Miracle on 34th Street

Food + Drink: The "Miracle on Granby Street" cocktail:  Cranberry & Orange Insured Wild Turkey 101, Orange Liqueur, Spiced Cranberry Bitters, Brandied Cranberries

Classic Scene: Kris Kringle reprimands the hired Santa for being drunk, and the hired Santa pulls out a bottle of whiskey.

Movie: A Christmas Carol

Food + Drink: Mrs. Cratchits’ Plum Pudding & Christmas Wassail Punch, inspired by the lady herself from a Christmas Carol. A traditional Christmas Bread Pudding with baked fruit and a rum custard paired with a classic Christmas Wassail Punch that compliments Mrs. Cratchits’ dessert so well. This long time Wassail recipe, which can be found mentioned in the classic Christmas carol, "Here we come a-wassailing," is a mulled hot drink with mixed fruit juices, spices and rum!

Classic Scene: In the movie, the Cratchit children’s minds were racing thinking about Mrs. Cratchits' pudding.

In years past, they’ve been inspired by: Love Actually, Die Hard, The Grinch, Christmas Story, Elf, Nightmare Before Christmas, Gremlins, Home Alone, Polar Express, Family Man, Ernest Saves Christmas and more!

Four Eleven York releases four cocktails a week starting December 4 all the way until Christmas! Their beverage director watches the movie and creates a drink based on a quote or a scene. Stay tuned to their social media for the final menu.
