Selden Market features the area’s up-and-coming small businesses in retail, food and more. For entrepreneurs, the market provides a supportive space to develop and test new ideas. For shoppers and foodies, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience in a historic downtown venue.
Located inside the historic Selden Arcade, the market is comprised of 11 retail spaces, rotating pop-ups, working and seating areas, and even a shared kitchen. With entrances on both Main and Plume Street, Selden Market is a prime Downtown crossroads for residents, workers, and visitors. The market boasts indoor connectors to Hilton Norfolk The Main, Slover Library, Slover Maker Studio and entrances to local eateries The Stockpot, Granby Waffle Shop, Syd's FishPig Cafe and d’Egg.

Developed and funded by the Downtown Norfolk Council and digital marketing agency Grow, the Selden Market opened in the fall of 2017 as an innovative space for entrepreneurs to develop new street-level business ideas. The market provides a low-risk environment with short-term leases, a supportive development program, and a community atmosphere that fosters learning and growth. There are three types of spaces for rent:
- Incubator Storefronts - available for emerging businesses
- Mentor Business Storefronts - limited spaces for established businesses who can share their time and expertise in exchange for a great location and competitive lease rate
- Pop-Up Booths - ideal for testing out new products or services at affordable daily, weekly or monthly rates
