Derek Shaw started Werther Leather Goods in 2011 focusing on hand-stitched minimalist wallets, and now has a full line of leather goods including “Belts made while you wait” and a line of tool-bag-inspired canvas and leather bags. Everything is made completely from scratch in the Selden Market. Werther Arcelli immigrated to America to build a better life with his own two hands–fighting professionally as a boxer and becoming the champion of New England. Nearly a century later, his great grandson is honoring that heritage making a living with his hands in a different way. Derek makes leather goods how they used to back in the day of his great grandfather. Using mostly hand tools and old machinery, his bags and wallets are packed full of character and made to last.
