Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger is best known for serving as Captain during the "Miracle on the Hudson" and became internationally renowned on January 15, 2009 when he and his crew safely guided US Airways Flight 1549 to an emergency water landing in New York City's Hudson River. The story will come to the big screen in September 2016 starring Tom Hanks as Sully with directing by Clint Eastwood. Sullenberger has been dedicated to the pursuit of safety for his entire adult life with safety advocate roles for the United States Air Force, Air Line Pilots Association, and US Airways. Sullenberger has also written several books including The New York Times best-seller Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters. Sullenberger founded and leads a safety consulting business focusing on aviation and health care practices and is a frequent speaker on a broad range of topics including crisis management and life-long preparation.
