2021 Visiting Artist: Corey Pemberton
Demonstrations Friday–Sunday, June 4–6 from 10am-1pm and 2:30pm–5pm
Lecture Friday, June 4 at 7pm

Former Studio Assistant Corey Pemberton will return to the Perry Glass Studio this summer. Corey Pemberton first came to the Perry Glass Studio in 2012 as a Studio Assistant. In that same year, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has completed residencies at The Pittsburgh Glass Center, Bruket, and a core fellowship at the Penland School of Craft. The Reston, Virginia native lives in Los Angeles, where he splits his time between the arts nonprofit Crafting the Future, production glass blowing, and his painting practice. Pemberton strives to bring together people of all backgrounds and identities, breaking down stereotypes and building bridges, not only through his work with Crafting The Future but with his personal artistic practice as well. Watch him work during demonstrations at the Studio, and hear more about his artistic practice during a lecture.

Register online for the lecture and reserve timed tickets for the morning or afternoon demos at Chrysler.org or by calling the Glass Studio Welcome Desk at 757-333-6299.

Reserved tickets that are not redeemed 15 minutes after the start time will be released to other visitors. Visitors without tickets to the Glass Studio can see a live stream of the demonstrations in the Museum’s Kaufman Theater.

All events are free. Donations are encouraged to support the Visiting Artist Series.
