Where is the best place to get custom gifts?
If you are looking for a unique, one-of-a-kind downtown Norfolk shopping experience, look no further than Selden Market. We’ve even put together an Insider's Guide that highlights the shops and offerings. MacArthur Center also has several local retailers and the VisitNorfolk Mermaid Market has all kinds of Norfolk-centric items.
Where can I pick up alcohol and groceries to go?
While we don’t have a traditional grocery store, we have plenty of opportunities to grab some necessities. Granby Bistro is just like a big city bodega, with everything from deli meats and homemade baklava and prepared meals to spices, cleaning supplies and cold beer. You can also grab your favorite libations at Vino Culture Wine Shop or the ABC store on Granby Street.
Downtown is full of options for a little outdoor respite to enjoy the scenery and grab a bite. Town Point Park isn’t just for festivals, it’s a beautiful green space with plenty of benches and shady spots. Situated between the Waterside Marina and Waterside District, TowneBank Fountain Park has shade, furniture and even a fountain to cool you off if you are so inclined. The Pagoda and Garden, located on the waterfront in the Freemason Harbor, might be one of the most tranquil and calming spots in all of Norfolk. The MacArthur Memorial Museum has a beautiful outdoor plaza filled with history.
It’s hard to beat a delicious meal overlooking stunning waterfront views and Downtown has several options. Waterside Seafood Company is located in the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Grab an orange crush and even play a round of ping pong at Blue Moon Taphouse, and right next door is Stripers Waterside with comfortable outdoor seating and fire pits. And you can enjoy waterfront views from above at Grain's Rooftop Lounge at Norfolk Hilton The Main.
