September Member Briefing

Join us for our first Member Briefing of the season as we welcome The Honorable Andria McClellan as our guest speaker. Councilwoman McClellan will update attendees on three initiatives, resiliency/climate change, transit and broadband, which are vitally important to the City of Norfolk and the region.
Resiliency / Climate Change – Norfolk’s resilience strategy contains three actionable goals to respond to current and future challenges and capitalize on strengths and opportunities.  As chair of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) Subcommittee on Coastal Resilience, Councilwoman McClellan is working with representatives from the other Hampton Roads localities to address this critical issue for the region.
Transit – As a member of the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads, Councilwoman McClellan focuses on the future of transit in the region to include more efficiency and reliability.
Broadband – Regional efforts are underway to plan, design and build an interconnected fiber ring which will offer fast, reliable and affordable access to data and technology transfer. Councilwoman McClellan serves on the Regional Broadband Steering Committee.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Slover Library on September 4th.
